choose a base wrap color as the main color you will see (if a triple or double wrap). This is the color against the blank under the guide ring or roller guide "hump".
choose the color of the guide foot wrap (the one holding the guide to the blank) to compliment the top color if a triple wrap; or if a double wrap, to compliment the base wrap.
choose the top color to compliment the base wrap if a triple wrap, or if it is a single wrap-because it's your favorite.
choose metallic thread for Inserts and End Highlights ONLY (A guide wrap of metallic will look coarse and uneven)
choose metallic thread to compliment your reel, ex. gold inserts and end caps compliment both black and gold reels, or as a pleasing contrast to your main color.
suggestion-choose a unique scheme so you can quickly pick out your rod from others, for example, during a wide open bite on a Long Range boat
