Catching Kokanee

We are firm believers in using White Shoepeg Corn on the hook.  So first of all, we recommend using it

We use dodgers and prefer Sling Blades.
When using a lure that has a lot of action on it's own, we use a leader of 30 to 36 inches,  Here, the dodger is used as an attractor.
When using a lure that has very little or no action on it's own, use a leader about 12 to 18 inches so the dodger will give action to the lure.

We like to troll about 0.7 to 1 mile an hour.  But sometimes. we'll get up to around 2 mph if we feel a need to try something different and have caught a fair number of fish at that speed.

We have successfully caught kokes on leadcore using a fluorocarbon leader about 30' feet long between the dodger and the leadcore,  but now use a down riggers with the lure about 24 feet back.
